Yoshigiku Ito was born in Japan on 3 August 1856 and passed away in Japan on 26 November 1966 at the age of 110. At the time of her death she was the world's oldest living woman. She is erroneously verified as a male supercentenarian, but contemporary news reports confirm she was female.[1] She was succeeded as the world's oldest living woman by Johanna Booysen.
