Wilhelmina Hoorn (6 November 1903 – 30 November 2013) was a Dutch-American supercentenarian whose currently pending. She's the second-oldest Dutch emigrant ever, behind only Sietje Cornelia Hof.

Biography

Wilhelmina Hoorn was born in Tegelen, a city district of the municipality of Venlo in Limburg, Netherlands, on 6 November 1903. She moved to the state of New York, United States because of the Great Depression of the 1930's, but she mentioned that the Great Depression was ten times worse in the United States than in her native country.

She married and got three daughters. Even though her husband died at the young age of 46 and she was left with eight dollars, Mrs. Hoorn managed to earn a good living and keep a good home, which she was very proud of. She was described as very independent by her daughters.

Wilhelmina Hoorn died on 30 November 2013 at the age of 110 years, 24 days. She is the oldest person ever from the province of Limburg. (Petronella Ribbens-Verstallen, who died in Limburg at the age of 110 years, 170 days, may have been older than Mrs. Hoorn, yet Mrs. Ribbens-Verstallen was born in the province of North Brabant).
