Maria Virginia Constante Benitez (born 10 July 1907) is an Ecuadorian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She may be the oldest known living person in Ecuador.
Virginia Constante was born Maria Virginia Constante Benitez on 10 July 1907 in Quero, Tungurahua, Ecuador to parents Nicanor Constante and Dolores Benitez. She never married nor had children.
When Virginia was 18, she joined the Dominican Order as a tertiary (Third Order), showing great spiritual strength and devotion to hospital patients and families living in poverty. Several years later, she became part of an apostolate, to prepare children and teens for their first communion. She did this for over 40 years.
By her 104th birthday in 2011, Virginia was having problems with her hearing and sight, but was otherwise in very good health. Despite this, she was wheelchair-bound by her 110th birthday in 2017.
Virginia Constante currently lives in Ambato, Tungurahua, Ecuador, at the age of 113 years, 195 days.
