Longevity is the study of aging and the surrounding factors. Exercise a contributing

factor. Pro. Steven Blaire believes that swimmers have a lower death rate than not

swimmers. Swimming is good aerobic exercise but I do not think has anything to with

how long a person lives.Dr. Lee says that swimming is a weight bearing exercise for

arthritis sufferers. Walking and and running is good cardio exercise for younger

people. The eldery cannot do as much running as their bones and muscles are much

weaker. A 90 year old skeleton is much weaker then a 27 year old skeleton. Diet is

another big factor to how people live. People who eat fresh food are typically

healthier then those who only eat processed foods. Fresh food is usually grown from the

ground and are have the best nutritional value when they ripe or near it. Fresh food

also contains natural minerals and nutrients such as salt. A lot of fresh foods from

the ground contain chemicals and minerals needed for a healthy lifestyle. Longevity

is also affected by a person’s eating habits. The more a person eats the more the

Extra weight will have bad effects on the body like weight related issues. The heart

works harder to pump blood through out an overweight body. Most people who are

overweight use the ‘healthy obesity excuse’ because they are to lazy to lose weight

or just don’t care about their health. Obese folks are at an increased of deadly heart

attacks. Overeating definitely affects longevity. Geographical location and the

environment that have deadly conditions that can greatly affect longevity. A 56 year

old woman from the state of Illinois said eating healthy helps, avoiding stress and

genetics.  I agree with her.Stress is just annoying. Healthy food is good for you .

Bernice Madigan (1899-2015} said having lots of friends. Carol said living a healthy

lifestyle, (eating right and exercise),having a positive attitude and outlook on

life, and surrounding yourself with people that love you. I agree with having a positve

attitude and getting triggered by every little thing helps. Eating right helps. Susannah

Mushatt Jones (1899-2016) contributed her longevity to no drinking or smoking. For

some reason she thought bacon helps too. It’s just bacon, it don’t do much. Eva

Morris (1885-2000) thought whiskey and boiled onions make you live longer. I don’t

think so. Marie-Louise Meilleu'r' ( 1880-1998) said working hard makes you live

longer. I say no because more work equals more stress. Emma Godfrey (1887-1997)

said to eat healthy and be positve
