Tsuneyo Toyonaga (豊永 常代 Toyonaga Tsuneyo) (21 May 1894 - 22 February 2008)[1] was a Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Japan from the death of Shitsu Nakano on 19 August 2007 until her own death. She was also the fifth-oldest validated living person in the world following the death of fellow 113-year-old Bertha Fry on 14 November 2007.[2] At the time of her death she was one of the 90 oldest validated people ever.[[File:|thumb|Tsuneyo Toyonaga (1894-2008)]]

Biography

Before her death, Toyonaga was living in the town of Tano in Kochi Prefecture on the island of Shikoku.[3]
