Toshiyasu Chiba (14 April 1907 – 15 October 2017) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). He was the oldest known living man in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.
Biography
Toshiyasu Chiba was born on 14 April 1907 in Japan. Until 2016, his name was incorrectly transliterated as Juko Chiba. On 20 April 2017, six days after his 110th birthday, he became the oldest known living man in Miyagi Prefecture, following the death of 111-year-old Toichi Sasaki of Osaki. He was reported as such in September 2017.
Toshiyasu Chiba passed away in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 110 years, 184 days. His successor as Miyagi Prefecture’s oldest known man is an anonymous man born in 1910 or 1911.
