Teodoro Teixeira (12 March 1910 – 12 May 2020) was a Brazilian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Teixeira was born in Minas Gerais, Brazil on 12 March 1910. A miner, Teixeira moved to Acailandia in Maranhao State, where he started his family.
Teixeira celebrated his 110th birthday with a large party on 14 March 2020, with much of his family in attendance. In 2020, he reportedly had 15 children, 100 grandchildren, 188 great-grandchildren, 132 great-great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Teixeira died in Acailandia, Maranhao, Brazil on 12 May 2020 at the age of 110 years, 61 days. His final request was to have a grand send-off with “a lot of barbecues, drinks, and fires”; due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, this request could not be fulfilled. Teixeira was buried in a small ceremony on 13 May.
