Shojiro Shirai (Japanese: 白井庄次郎;  29 October 1909 – 11 August 2020) is a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).

Biography

Shirai was born in Japan on 29 October 1909. In October 2019, he celebrated his 110th birthday. On 14 April 2020, he became the oldest living man in Japan, following the death of Issaku Tomoe.

He died in Adogawacho Aoyagi, Takashima, Shiga Prefecture, Japan on 11 August 2020 at the age of 110 years, 287 days. After his death, Motoi Fukunishi became the new oldest living man in Japan.
