Sarah Olive Fitt (née Ray; 16 November 1838 – 14 January 1947) was a British centenarian who was the oldest known living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death.
Biography[]
Sarah was born in East Meon, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom, on 16 November 1838 to William and Elizabeth (Kersley) Ray in East Meon, Hampshire. She married Henry Fitt in 1864, and had 10 children. Fitt became the oldest living person in the United Kingdom on 5 March 1946, when Rebecca Lees died. Sarah Fitt died on 14 January 1947 at the age of 108 years, 59 days, and Elizabeth Sellwood became the oldest living person in the country.
