Biography

In 1930, she married Heinrich (later Henry) Weyl, who was also from Breslau. When the Nazis forced them to close their business on June 26, 1937, Ruth and Heinrich decided to leave the country and immigrated to Kenya, then under British rule. The couple sailed to New York, United States on board the Queen Elizabeth I, arriving in March 1948. They lived in Astoria for 30 years until Heinrich died in 1977. A short time later, Weyl moved to Forest Hills, where she continued to lived until her death on 23 February 2019 at the age of 110 years, 109 days.
