Mattie Ruth Stethem (née Young; 14 June 1903 – 6 June 2014) was an American supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Ruth Stethem was born in Long Bottom, Ohio, USA on 14 June 1903. Her parents were Fred E. Young and Inzie (née Safried) Young.
She married Emmett Stethem on 21 July 1921. The couple had two children: Roland Richard and Gerald George Stethem. She was widowed in 1978.
Ruth Stethem died in Canton, Ohio, USA on 6 June 2014 at the age of 110 years, 357 days. She was survived by one son Gerald George; one daughter-in-law Faye Stethem; three grandchildren, Patty, Terry, and Gerald; two step-grandchildren, Sandra and Ron.
