Rose Cifalde (née Anzivino; 3 September 1903 – 7 April 2014) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).


Rose Cifalde was born in Youngstown, Ohio, USA on 3 September 1903, the second-youngest of nine children of Anthony Anzivino and Mary Grace DeCarlo Anzivino.

At age 14, she got her first job in a men’s hosiery factory. She worked in her father’s Brier Hill grocery store until age 20. In her 50s, Rose got a job at Youngstown College (now Youngstown State University).

She married Carmen Cifalde on 24 August 1924. The couple had four children: Anthony Cifalde (aged 82 in 2013), William Cifalde (died 2007), John Cifalde (died 2001) and Mary Grace Cifalde (aged 76 in 2013). She was widowed in 1980.

Her sister and her brother-in-law died within a year of each other, leaving their seven children (five of them under 12) without parents. She moved in with them and assumed the responsibility of 10 children, both hers and her sister. She lived with them for five years.

In her 110th birthday, she had four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren (including Jennifer Cifalde (aged 27) who lived in Poland).

Rose Cifalde died in Liberty Township, Trumbull County, Ohio, USA on 7 April 2014 at the age of 110 years, 216 days. She is survived by one son Anthony Cifalde, one daughter Mary Grace Cifalde, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her dog Zero and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins.
