Rosa Bandini (11 September 1901 – 12 June 2014) was an Italian supercentenarian whose age has been validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the last surviving person in Italy born in 1901.
Biography[]
Rosa Bandini was born on 11 September 1901 in Brisighella, Emilia-Romagna, Italy in the family of eight children: she and her seven brothers.
After working as a teacher in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy, Rosa decided to return to Romagna, in Faenza, where she worked in a pottery shop. There she met her husband, Francesco Alberghi, who worked as an electrician. The couple had a son. Bandini never smoked or had bad eating habits.
At 112, she had a son who was in his 80s, as well as two grandchildren.
Bandini died on 12 June 2014 in Forli, Emilia-Romagna, Italy at the age of 112 years, 274 days.
