Petra Hogetveit [Norwegian: Høgetveit] (born 3 April 1910) is a Norwegian supercentenarian who is the oldest living person in Norway after the death of Marie Andersen on 16 February 2020.

Biography

Petra Hogetveit was born in Stange, Hedmark, Norway on 3 April 1910. After growing up there, she moved to Oslo and worked as a caretaker for elderly people. She married Aslak Hogetveit and got three children: Sveining (1934), Solvar (1937) and Tor (1954). Her worst memories in life were 9 April 1940, when she heard on the radio how Nazi Germany occupied Norway, and not being able to give her children any shoes due to short supplies.

Hogetveit currently lives in a retirement home in Brumunddal, Ringsaker, Norway. At age 109, Hogetveit stated that she enjoys her longevity. She is still able to walk without a walker and she still likes cooking. Her secret to her longevity was taking care of flowers, being happy all the time and no smoking or drinking.
