Pavel Vasilev Hristov (Bulgarian: Павел Василев Христов; 23 June 1909 – c. 30 May 2017) was a Bulgarian centenarian who was the oldest known person in Bulgaria from the death of Maria Muhova on 24 March 2016.
Pavel was born on 23 June 1909 in the village of Vetren, Kyustendil Province, Kingdom of Bulgaria (present-day Bulgaria). His mother was Macedonian. He was the fifth child in the family of six. Two of his siblings died really young. His mother died when he was 6 years old. In 1938, he moved to village of the Zhelezari.
At the age of 27, he married Yova, with whom he raised 3 sons: Malin, Gencho and Ignat. He was a farmer and a cattle-breeder for all his life. He never visited doctor or dentist. He prefered home-made food - vegetables from the garden, goat's milk, cheese and meat. In 1980, he moved to village of the Marash, Shumen Municipality where he lived with his youngest son, Ignat (aged 75 in 2014). In 2014, he had 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Pavel died in Marash, Shumen Municipality, Bulgaria on circa 30 May 2017 at the age of 107 years, c. 341 days.
