Palne Magdus Varga (Hungarian: Pálné Varga; born 5 March 1915) is a Hungarian centenarian who is one of the oldest known survivors of COVID-19, having recovered from the disease at the age of 105.

Biography

Palne Varga was born in Austria-Hungary (now Hungary) on 5 March 1915. She worked as farmer. She had six children: two sons and four daughters (including Emilé Magdolna Laczkó).

COVID-19 Survival

In December 2020, Varga tested positive for COVID-19 during the coronavirus pandemic, but was asymptomatic. However, as of 23 January 2021, she successfully recovered.

As of January 2021, she had four living daughters (including Emilé Magdolna Laczkó), 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Palne Varga currently lives at Encsi Idősek Otthonában in Encs, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County, Hungary, at the age of 106 years, 100 days.
