Olympe Amaury (née Vignel; 19 June 1901 – 12 May 2015)[1] was the oldest living person in France. She was also the second oldest living person in Europe behind Emma Morano of Italy, and the 12th oldest living person in the world.
Olympe Vignel was born in Tracy sur Loire, France on 19 June 1901. She married Gaspard Bernard Amaury in Tracy sur Loire on 31 May 1924. She had 4 children (Ginette, Jacques, Michel and Claude). From 2003 until her death she lived in a retirement home in Amilly. She had 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.[2][3] Her sister Yvonne Dupuy (1894–1996) lived to be 101.
She died at the age of 113 years and 327 days on 12 May 2015.[4] Following her death the oldest French person is Eudoxie Baboul of French Guiana.[5]
