Mrenda Momin claimed to have been born on 11 April 1905. She was the only daughter of Gelloram Rongma Marak and Usni Mrenda Momin. From her early childhood, she lived a life of devotion and dedication to a religion. In 1922, she married Tangkan Sangma of Nidanpur. They had three children: three sons and three daughters. After marrying, she lived with her family at Rangjuli, Assam where she was also an active member and leader of the Church.
