Mollye Saltzman Marcus was born on 18 October 1899 in Lyakhavichy, Russian Empire, now Belarus. At the age of four, she migrated to Council Bluffs, Iowa and married Abner Marcus in 1923. She moved to Auburn, Nebraska in 1931 and then relocated to Omaha until 1990. After that, she moved to California to be near family. She survived her husband, who died in 1964, her son-in-law Kurt Hirschinger in 2003 and daughter Beverly Bramson in 2004
