Miriam Ebrahim (née Jogee; born 27 July 1908?) is a Zimbabwean-born South African supercentenarian claimant whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Ebrahim was born Miriam Jogee in Fort Victoria, Rhodesia (present-day Masvingo, Zimbabwe) on 27 July 1908 into a family of farmers. She never attended a school and spent her life working on wheat, tobacco and maize plantations.
Ebrahim had only one child, Fatiema Richards. A few years after immigrating to South Africa, her daughter brought her to live with her in Brooklyn. Her daughter said: “She didn’t want to come but eventually did because I was here and I wanted to take care of her”. Ebrahim is Shona-speaking and knows only a few English words.
Ebrahim currently lives in Brooklyn, Pretoria, South Africa, at the claimed age of 115 years, 266 days.
