Mayetta Miller (née White; formerly Epps; 15 April 1901 – 31 December 2012) was an American supercentenarian who is currently pending by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known person in Illinois when she died.


Mayetta Miller was born in Lewisville, Arkansas, USA on 15 April 1901, the oldest of five children of Tom White and Melisha (née Williams) White.

She educated in Philander Smith College in Little Rock, Arkansas. During this time, her education prepared her to become a teacher in Arkansas.

Mayetta married Travis Morris Epps in 1921. In 1922, the couple moved to East St. Louis, Illinois. The couple had five children: Clabon (now deceased), Lerlene (now deceased), Ernest (now deceased), Marcella (1929–1931) and James (born c.1931). Travis died in 1972, after 51 years of marriage.

She married Cliff Miller in 1975. Cliff died in 1995 after 20 years of marriage. Her youngest and only surviving child, James, was her sole caregiver during her later years. She was a longtime member at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

Mayetta Miller died in East Saint Louis, Illinois, USA on 31 December 2012 at the age of 111 years, 260 days. She is survived by one son James Levoid Epps, Sr.; one daughter-in-law Doris Pridgen Epps; five grandchildren Clabon Epps, Jr., Michelle West, Clarette, James Jr., and Maurice Epps; 13 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; one niece Evelyn C. Green; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
