Matsu Adachi (1 January 1903 – 4 November 2014) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). She was the oldest known living person in Ibaraki Prefecture at the time of her death.

Biography

Matsu Adachi was born on 1 January 1903 in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. At some point in her life, she moved to Ibaraki Prefecture. On 12 April 2012, when she was 109, she became the oldest known living person in Ibaraki Prefecture following the death of 113-year-old Tome Takaoka. In October 2014, she was admitted to hospital after her health began to deteriorate.

Matsu Adachi passed away on 4 November 2014 in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan at the age of 111 years, 307 days due to old age. Her successor as Ibaraki Prefecture’s oldest person was an anonymous woman living in Chikusei (6 November 1904 – 16 May 2015).
