Matilda "Tilka" Bracun (Slovene: Bračun; born 26 September 1913) is a Slovenian centenarian who is one of the oldest known survivors of COVID-19, having recovered from the disease at the age of 106. She also is one of the oldest known people in Slovenia.

Biography

Matilda Bracun was born in Austria-Hungary (now Slovenia) on 26 September 1913.

After finishing primary school in Ljubljana she trained to be a knitter. She got a job in Pletenina textile factory and later worked in Saturnus factory.. In retirement, she continued knitting and sewing tapestries.

She was married and had a son whom she outlived.

Bracun lived independently at home in Ljubljana until 2017, when, at age 103, she moved to a retirement home in Horjul.

COVID-19 Survival

During the coronavirus pandemic, she was infected with COVID-19; however, as of 8 January 2021, she successfully recovered, making her one of the oldest known survivors of the disease.

Matilda Bracun currently lives at a nursing home in Horjul, Slovenia, at the age of 107 years, 205 days.
