Mary Whitehurst (née Bolitho) (20 October 1905 – 2 January 2017) was a British-born Australian supercentenarian, who is currently unverified by the GRG. She may have been, at the age of 111, the oldest living person in Australia since the death of Ethel Farrell on 20 December 2015 until her own death on 2 January 2017 (the government of Australia does not report their oldest persons). She celebrated her 110th birthday on 20 October 2015.[1]

Biography

Mary Ellen Selina Bolitho was born in the Welsh Village of Maerdy, as the oldest of eight children. Her family soon moved to Australia, initially settling in Queensland.[2] Although Mary has lived in Riddells Creek, Victoria, Australia for most of her life. Her mother lived until the age of 103.
