Mary Louisa Wilbur Snyder (née Finch; 6 February 1870 – 13 April 1980) was a validated American supercentenarian.
Biography[]
Mary Snyder was born in a log cabin in Conklin, New York, to Ezekiel Finch and Mary Louisa Finch. She had 12 siblings. When Mary Snyder was 8 years old, her mother died. When she was 12, she did domestic work in several homes in the area. She married military man Harvey B. Wilbur in 1887 when she was just 17 years old. When he died in 1911, she eventually remarried. This time to John Snyder. He died in 1936.
In total, she had five children. Four of them were still alive as of 1969. In an article from when she was 99, she stated that she was intrigued by the way the world had changed since she was a child.
Snyder died in Chenango County on 13 April 1980, at the age of 110 years, 67 days. She was the 13th-oldest validated living person in the world at the time of her death.
