Mary O’Neill (26 January 1838? – 19 October 1951) was a British-American supercentenarian claimant to age of 113 who, if verified as 113, would have been the world’s oldest person from the death of Rebecca Lees until her death and the world oldest person ever.
Biography[]
Mary O’Neill claimed to have be born in Yorkshire, England, UK on 26 January 1838 to Mary and James O’Neill. At the age of 26, she married. She had 7 children. After her husband died around 1888, she emigrated with her youngest daughter Frances to Pennsylvania, United States. Another daughter would follow her while two other children remained in England.
On her claimed 110th birthday in 1948, O'Neill could climb a hill, bake, and sew. On her claimed 113tth birthday, she had her first cold.
Mary O’Neill died in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, USA on 19 October 1951 at the claimed age of 113 years, 266 days. At the time of her death, she lived with her grandson, James O’Neill and only one of her children, Mary Duckworth, survived her.
