Mary Louise Smirtic (née Wells; 19 January 1906 – 10 December 2016) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was third-oldest known person in US state of Georgia.
Biography
Mary Louise Smirtic was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA on 19 January 1906. Her parents were Robert Joseph Wells and Geneva (née Gwynn) Wells.
She married George Edward Snell in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA on 12 December 1925. The couple had one son George William "Bill" Snell (24 September 1926 – 12 May 2001). The couple divorced in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA on 14 February 1936.
She married Glen Morris Stark in Manhattan, New York City, New York State, USA on 8 March 1936. She married Joseph Fred Smirtic, who died in 2003.
Mary Louise Smirtic died in Marietta, Georgia, USA on 10 December 2016 at the age of 110 years, 326 days. She is survived by three granddaughters and their husbands Deborah and John Logan, Robin and Art Holleman and Tracy and Liam Munroe, two grandsons Kevin and David Kronawitter and one great-grandson Jacob Kronawitter.
