Martha Xoagus was born on 27 September 1905 in Gibeon, in what was then German South-West Africa (now Namibia), to a German father and a Nama mother. She was the eldest child. Her mother's name was Mary Xoagus. Her father was killed by Bushmen. Her mother and she then moved to Khaxus, near Bulspoort. She married at 25 and at that time she worked on commercial farms with her husband. They had 10 children. She was very religious. Her granddaughter, Lintina Isaak, claimed that Martha believed in two things: “Respect for others and the Ten Commandments”.

Martha Afrikaner (nèe Xoagus; 27 September 1905 – 11 November 2015) was a Namibian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was the oldest known living person in Namibia.

Martha Afrikaner Xoagus was born in Gibeon, in what was then German South-West Africa (now Namibia) on 27 September 1905 to a German father and a Nama mother. She was the eldest child. Her mother's name was Mary Xoagus. Her father was killed by Bushmen. Her mother and she then moved to Khaxus, near Bulspoort.
