Centenarian

Marion Dawson (born 19 January 1913) is a British centenarian who is the oldest known living person in Scotland.

Biography

Marion Dawson was born on 19 January 1913 in Houston, Renfrewshire, Scotland. She married Robert Dawson and had two children, Jean and Allan.

Dawson celebrated her 107th birthday in January 2020 at the Houston and Killellan Church, where she has been a member for decades. She had never missed a week at church until the lockdown put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic forced in-person meetings to stop, but she still attended online services.

On her 108th birthday, Dawson received the COVID-19 vaccine at her church, which was being used as a temporary vaccination site by the local GP surgery. Dawson commented that she "never felt a thing."

Dawson became the oldest known living person in Scotland in August 2021 following the death of 109-year-old Louisa Wilson.
