Maria Sirina da Silva (born October 1912) is a Brazilian centenarian who is one of oldest known survivors of COVID-19, having recovered from the disease one month before her 109th birthday.

Biography

Maria Sirina da Silva was born in Brazil in October 1912. She had at least four children.

Health problems and COVID-19 Survival

Around 2014, she was diagnosed with cancer in the groin and has been treating ever since. Around March 2019, she suffered two heart attacks in a period of 15 days.

During the coronavirus pandemic, she contracted COVID-19 along with seven other family members. On 16 September 2020, one month before turning 108, she had successfully recovered, making her one of the oldest survivors of the disease.

As of September 2020, she had four children, 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Maria Sirina da Silva currently lives in Marumbi, Parana, Brazil, at the age of at least 108 years, 235 days.
