Maria Rosa de Jesus (30 January 1904? – 11 June 2020) was a Brazilian longevity claim. If her claimed age were true, she would have been the second-oldest living person, behind Kane Tanaka at the time of death.

Biography[]

Maria Rosa de Jesus claimed to have been born in Vicosa, Ceara, Brazil, on 30 January 1904. Her mother was Rosa Maria de Jesus. In 1915, she left her hometown and moved to the village of Santa Luzia do Tide (present-day municipality of Santa Luzia), Maranhao. She raised her children in Maranhao and worked as a farmer with her husband. They had 15 children. She arrived in Teresina in 1968, when she divorced from her husband and decided to come to Piaui to start a new life. In Teresina, she lived in a small house in the Lourival Parente neighborhood.

Maria Rosa de Jesus died of natural causes at her home in Teresina, Piaui, Brazil, on 11 June 2020, at the claimed age of 116 years, 133 days. According to her grandson, Francisco Daniel Pereira de Brandao, in her last days she was no longer eating properly and had been showing weaknesses in the last few days.
