Her earliest memory was at age 3, when the police announced her brother's death to her parents. During her life, she worked as a secretary (both as an executive secretary at an insurance company in Chartres and even at the military base in Deols). Her husband died in the 1960s. She moved to Nébouzat in 1997 and never left the department of Puy-de-Dome ever since. She moved to retirement home 'Les Roches de Saint-Ours-les-Roches' in October 2017.
Marguerite Larmignat currently lives in Saint-Ours, Puy-de-Dome, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France at the age of 110 years, 124 days. She is the second-oldest living person in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes behind Marcel Meys, and the oldest living person in Puy-de-Dome departement.
