Margarita Arriagada Cancino de Mansilla (17 December 1897 – 16 December 2011) was a Chilean supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). If verified, she would be the second-oldest Chilean person ever, behind Maria Mercedes Diaz Quijano.
Biography[]
Margarita Arriagada Cancino was born in the town of San Juan de la Costa, Osorno, Los Lagos, Chile. Her parents were Juan Arriagada Ortega and Loreto Cancino Fernández. She was an indigenous Huilliche. She married Juan Mansilla Mansilla in 1927 and with him, she had eight children, three of whom were still alive when Margarita died. She also had 26 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
Arriagada Cancino died in the early morning of the day before her 114th birthday in Corte Alto, Purranque, Osorno, Los Lagos, Chile.
