Margaret Hoyle (née: McCaslin; born 29 January 1914) is an American supercentenarian who is one of the oldest known survivors of COVID-19, having recovered from the disease at the age of 106. Her age is validated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography[]
Margaret Hoyle was born in Lincoln County, North Carolina, USA on 29 January 1914. She married Robert David Hoyle and they had four children, all of whom she has survived. As of 2024, Hoyle has 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Hoyle lived independently until she fell and broke her hip in July 2020, after which she moved into a nursing home in Chester County, South Carolina. A few months later she contracted COVID-19, but successfully recovered about two weeks before her 107th birthday in January 2021, making her one of the oldest known survivors of the disease.
In January 2024, she celebrated her 110th birthday and became a supercentenarian.
Margaret Hoyle currently lives in Chester, South Carolina, USA at the age of 110 years, 80 days.
