Meshcheryakova claimed to have been born in Alexandrovsky District, Stavropol Krai, Russian Empire (present-day Russia) on 12 July 1907 in a large family of peasants. Her father worked on a collective farm and her mother was a housewife. Marfa was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. She helped the soldiers to dig trenches. After the war, she worked on a collective farm for many years.

In 1928, she married Mikhail Sergeyevich Meshcheryakov. Her husband was also a participant in the Great Patriotic War. The couple had eight children. They lived together for 60 years until her husband's death in 1988, after which Marfa moved to her daughter in the city of Stavropol.

On her 110th birthday, she was visited by Vladimir Vladimirovich Vladimirov, Governor of Stavropol Krai, along with the head of the city, Andrey Dzhatdoev. Then, she had 6 grandchildren (4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters), 7 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Meshcheryakova lived with one of her daughters, Alexandra Mikhailovna in Stavropol, Stavropol Krai, Russia. She was last known to be alive on 13 July 2017, at the claimed age of 110 years, 1 day.
