5 May 1876?
10 June 1993
117 years, 36 days?
Luke Blackwell (5 May 1876? – 10 June 1993) was an American longevity claimant.
Blackwell was allegedly born on 5 May 1876 in Clarendon County, South Carolina, to Ned and Leddie Blackwell. He never learned to read or write and worked as a farmer all his life. He died on 10 June 1993 in a hospital in Clarendon County at the claimed age of 117 years, 36 days.
If Blackwell's age were verified, he would be the oldest verified man of all time, a record currently held by Jiroemon Kimura of Japan. However, his family say they have no documents to prove his age.
