Luigina Assunta Pepe (10 August 1878 – 17 August 1986) was an Italian centenarian who was Italy's oldest person.

Biography

Pepe was born on 10 August 1878. She had met Giuseppe Garibaldi at a young age. Pepe never married, but lived with her sister Clotilde, who died in 1981 at the age of 96. Pepe became the oldest person in Italy upon Paolo Gioletta's death. Pepe died a week after her 108th birthday, and the title was passed on to Francesca Adelfio.
