Lois Holden (née Cade; 2 February 1910 – 5 May 2020) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).


Holden was born in Thomaston, Alabama, United States, on 2 February 1910. She was the seventh of 12 children born to parents Rev. John Wesley Cade and Lena Alice Harris. She migrated to Detroit in 1936, settling on Quincy Street near Dexter Avenue.

Holden married Ruben Holden and they had one son, Richard J. Williams. Holden has spent her entire life in the church, since her father was a minster. She attended New Bethel Baptist Church when it was located in Black Bottom (Detroit), then joined Coggins Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal in 1962, and when that church closed, she joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on Detroit’s east side in August 2018.

At the age of 109, she had 2 grandchildren, Williams and Lisa Watkins of Virginia, 4 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Holden celebrated her 110th birthday in February 2020.

Holden died in Iroquois Ave, Detroit, Michigan, United States, on 5 May 2020 at the age of 110 years, 93 days.
