Leila B. Rogers (née Oxford; 9 February 1908 – 15 December 2018) was an American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was one of the oldest known living people in the state of Florida, USA.
Biography
Leila Oxford was born in Crowe Valley, Whitfield County, Georgia, USA, on 9 February 1908. Her parents were Julian R. and Helen (Pierce) Oxford. She attained a seventh grade education at the Waring School, a one room rural school house. She was married four times: to Glen Carden, Raymond Dupree, Harry Vinson, and Robert J. Rogers. At the time of her death she had been widowed for over 50 years. She had three children; two of them were alive at the time of her death.
By 1952, she was living in Tampa, Florida. In 2005, aged 97, she moved to Hobe Sound, Florida. In her centenarian years, she was affectionately known as "Mom Lee".
Rogers died in Hobe Sound, Florida, USA on 15 December 2018 at the age of 110 years, 309 days.
