Kvetoslava Hranosova [Czech: Květoslava Hranošová] (26 January 1910 – 20 January 2019) was a Czech centenarian who was the oldest living person in Czech Republic.
Kvetoslava was born on 26 January 1910 and grew up in Ostrava, Austria-Hungary (present-day Czech Republic). She had two elder brothers. Her mother didn't work due to muscle atrophy and her father, Otakar Micky, worked at a mine storehouse. At the end of World War I, she witnessed great poverty and turmoil in her native land, such as the looting of the Jewish shops. She studied at the Institute for Education of Home Teachers in Opava. She became a teacher in 1931.
After her mother's death, she married her colleague, Jindrich Hranos, on her 22nd birthday. They were married for over 50 years. The couple had two daughters; Dagmar (born 1933) and Sarka (born 1937). The family later moved to Moravian Wallachia, where her husband worked.
In 1941, a report came about the arrest of her brother Milone, who fought against the Germans. Firstly, he was imprisoned in Terezin, later transported to Dresden, where he was executed in the spring of 1942. Five weeks later, her second brother, Premka, was also arrested and executed. After the war, it was difficult for teachers to get an employment. In 1950, she began teaching in Opava. Both daughters had been struggling with a complicated school because of their non-partisan parents.
Her husband died of a heart attack in 1983. In the same year, her grandson committed suicide. In the 1990s, she moved to Prague to live with her daughter, Sarka. In 2014, after falling out of her chair, she suffered an injury that prevented her from walking.
Hranosova lived at the "Domov pro seniory Elisky Purkynove" care home in Prague, Czech Republic. She died on 20 January 2019, six days prior to her 109th birthday.
