Kathe Caeroline “Katie” Logemann (née Quitsch; born 15 December 1907) is a German-American supercentenarian who is currently unvalidated.

Biography

Logemann was born Kathe Caeroline Quitsch in the farming community of Hude, near Oldenburg, Germany. She was orphaned at the age of 14. In her youth, she worked on local farms milking cows, helping with the crops, and working as a maid.

In 1930 she married Dietrich Logemann, and they moved to Nebraska, USA. They farmed there until they moved to Stockton, California, where their cousin had farm land. They started by working 100 acres of land but grew it to 400 acres. They grew, cut, and packed tomatoes and asparagus on their farm, relying on braceros and Filipino workers.

The couple had at least two children. They retired in the late 1960s, and spent winters in Niland, California, and eventually moved there permanently. Dietrich Logemann passed away in 1990.

Logemann taught water aerobics classes until she was 103. During a cruise to Alaska when she was 93, Logemann kayaked, took a helicopter to the top of a glacier, and was pulled by sled dogs. She rode in a hot air balloon at the age of 102.

After her live-in caretaker became ill, Logemann returned to Stockton in May 2015, where she now lives in a senior living community.
