Juliana Alejandro (née Espinoza; 19 June 1898 – 27 February 2010) was a Mexican-American supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG). At the time of her death, she was one of the oldest known people in Texas, USA.

Biography

Juliana Alejandro was born in Raices, Nuevo Leon, Mexico on 19 June 1898. Her parents were Jorge Espinoza and Maria de Jesus (née Garcia) Espinoza. Her father was recruited by Pancho Villa's Rebel Army to fight alongside the leader and was never to return, leading the family to believe he had died valiantly in battle.

She moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1954, with her husband, Esteban Alejandro, whom she was married to for 64 years. Together they raised their nine children until his death in 1977.

Juliana Alejandro died in McAllen, Texas, USA on 27 February 2010 at the age of 111 years, 253 days. She is survived by two sons Jose Alejandro and Santos Alejandro; four daughters Teresa Reyes, Gregoria Mendoza, Teresa Miranda and Maria Guadalupe Villarreal; 52 grandchildren, 147 great-grandchildren, 176 great-great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-great-grandchildren.
