Julia Dougherty (née Bergmann; 20 August 1893 – 4 December 2003) was a Peruvian-American supercentenarian whose age is officialy verified. She's currently the only verified supercentenarian from Peru.
Mrs. Dougherty was born in Lima, Peru, on 20 August 1893. She was married to Gustaf Ekstrom in the early 1920s. She later married Harrison Dougherty. When Mrs. Dougherty was six years old, she sailed with her family to the United States and settled in New York City, where she was educated. She settled in Mount Clair, N.J., and raised a family. After her second husband retired in 1950, she moved to West Dennis. At the time of her death, she was the oldest-living person in Massachusetts. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth and a member of Dennis-Yarmouth Women's Club, Barnstable Comedy Club and the Garden Club in West Dennis. She loved to sing and act, performed in operettas and plays since a young age, was active with several choral groups and was a member of Mount Clair Operetta. She enjoyed gardening and swimming at West Dennis Beach. Her greatest joy was time spent with family.
Mrs. Dougherty died in Hyannis, Massachusetts, USA, on 4 December 2003 at the age of 110 years, 106 days.
