Jose Guillermo Mogollon Munoz (Spanish: José Guillermo Mogollón Muñoz; 11 June 1910 – 12 February 2021) was a Peruvian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated.

Biography

Jose Guillermo Mogollon Munoz was born in Zarumilla, Tumbes Region, Peru, on 11 June 1910. He was a veteran of the Ecuadorian–Peruvian War of 1941, more precisely the Battle of Zarumilla (23-31 July 1941). After the victory in the battle and fulfilling his service, he dedicated himself to agriculture and his family. He had 7 children. One of his granddaughters is Olga Estefania Araujo Mogollon.

In the 2010s, he received several awards in his hometown. On 24 July 2019, he was recognized by the Provincial Municipality of Zarumilla in the ceremony of the “Battle of Zarumilla”, an event held annually in this region.

Mogollon Munoz died in his hometown of Zarumilla, on 12 February 2021, at the age of 110 years, 246 days. His granddaughter, Olga Estefania, said he was lucid until the night of 11 February 2021. He ate a dinner normally, but the next morning when his family went to wake him up, he was already deceased.
