John Richardson Jr. (23 January 1859? – 5 February 1969) was a British-American supercentenarian claimant.

Biography

John Richardson claimed to have been born in Glasgow, Scotland, UK on 23 January 1859. His father John Richardson Sr., was a carpenter in Edinburgh. He moved to America to find work and brought his family over in 1865 when his son was 6.

He got his first job at the age of 11 as a lithographic printer for $3 per week. Three years later, he quit and then held assorted jobs until he was 17, when he began driving a milk wagon. From his milk wagon, he went to the Post Office department, where he remained for 50 years.

At the age of 71, he started a construction business in Estes Park, New Jersey, and retired 15 years.

His wife Elizabeth (née Trumpp) Richardson died in 1942.

In 1945, he moved to New Brunswick, New Jersey, and moved to Easton four years later on the advice of a minister who had friends in that community.

He lived at 204 Ferry St., Easton until entering Gracedale Nursing Home in January 1961.

John Richardson died at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, USA on 5 February 1969 at the claimed age of 110 years, 13 days.
