Johann "Hans" Simair (8 July 1912 – 26 March 2019) was an Austrian centenarian and politician.

Biography

Simair was born in Tyrol in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Simair was a cattle farmer and trader before going into community politics. From 1947 to 1974, Simair served in his municipal council. He spent 15 years as vice mayor, and was mayor of St. Ulrich for 9 years.

At the age of 100, Simair was still able to take short drives in his car and compete in bowling competitions. Simair became Austria's oldest man on 19 December 2017, when Leopold Kriegbaum died. Simair died on 26 March 2019 at the age of 106. Otto Filipsky became Austria's oldest living man.
