Biography

Jesus Mosteo Perez was born in Ricla, in the region of Valdejalón, Spain, on 1 January 1908.

He was a farmer and shepherd all his life, although he also dedicated himself to bullfighting. He was married and had at least one daughter.

From the age of 100, he stopped attending the media and his relatives also been reluctant to make statements about his longevity, In the last years of his life, he lived with one of his children in Salillas de Jalón, a neighboring municipality in region of Zaragoza.

On 29 January 2018, four weeks after his 110th birthday, he became the oldest man in Spain following the death of 113-year-old Francisco Nunez Olivera. However, he wasn’t discovered by Spanish GRG correspondents until February 2018, so 109-year-old Domingo Parramon Cirera (1908–2018) was believed to have held the title.

Jesus Mosteo Perez died in Salillas de Jalon, Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain, at the age of 111 years, 239 days.
