Janet Luscombe (born 12 August 1910) is a Canadian supercentenarian whose age is currently unvalidated by the Gerontology Research Group (GRG).
Biography
Janet Luscombe was born in Lewisporte, Newfoundland, Canada, on 12 August 1910. She had 9 siblings. In her čate 30s, she moved to Ontario with her husband. They had 4 children: Barbara Dewar, Ruth, Roy and Jean. She worked as a seamstress at a hospital. In 1949, she moved to Ontario sought work with her husband and children. She got widowed in 1975.
At the age of 107, she moved to the Riverwood Seniors Living in Alliston, after living with her daughter (then 82-years-old) for 40 years.
In August 2020, she celebrated her 110th birthday. As of October 2020, she had one living child Barbara Dewar (who has dementia), 13 living grandchildren (including Lori Dewar-Gerstenecker), numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She became the oldest known living person in Ontario following the death of Phyllis Ridgway on 4 June 2021.
Luscombe currently lives in Alliston, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 113 years, 250 days.
