Jane Lang Raby (25 October 1819 – 11 June 1926) was a British centenarian who was the oldest known living person in the United Kingdom at the time of her death. She was the last known British person born before 1820.
Biography
Jane Raby was born on 25 October 1819 in Wales to parents Arthur Turnour Raby and Henrietta Jane (née Smith) Raby. She had six siblings, three of whom were called Georgina, Henrietta Maria and Emily. She never married nor had children. It is currently unknown when she became the oldest person in the United Kingdom.
Raby died on 11 June 1926 in Bath, England at the age of 106 years, 229 days. Her successor as the oldest person in the United Kingdom was Frances Smith (1820 - 1927).
