Biography[]
Jane Raby was born on 25 October 1819 in Wales to Arthur Turnour Raby and Henrietta Jane (née Smith) Raby. She had six siblings, three of whom were called Georgina, Henrietta Maria, and Emily. She never married nor had children.
It is currently uncertain as to when Raby became the oldest person in the United Kingdom, but it may have been following the death of Ann Sharp on 8 November 1924. Raby died on 11 June 1926 in Bath, England at the age of 106 years, 229 days. Her successor as the oldest person in the United Kingdom was Frances Smith (1820-1927).
