James Jacob(s) Alexander Turner (16 April 1914 – 23 June 2019) was an Antiguan centenarian who was the oldest living man in Antigua and Barbuda.

Biography

In his youth, Turner was a farmer. He started to cut sugarcane since he was about 16 years old. He later became a fisherman. He married Ellen Turner and the couple had three children, two sons and a daughter (including Eileen and George Turner). His wife passed away in 1960 at the age of 39 and Jacob raised his children with the help of his family. He retired when he was 99 years old.

Even at the age of 104, he had good eyesight and hearing. He was not afflicted by any disease neither was on medication for any ailments.

Turner passed away in Seatons, Glanvilles Village on Antigua, on 23 June 2019 at the age of 105 years, 68 days.
